Configuration Options
The Pandora Data System software consists of two major software components; the Pandora User Interface (the part you interact with) and the Pandora Database Manager (where the med transaction data is stored).
Pandora can run as a single-user desktop installation where the Pandora User Interface and the Pandora Database Manager are on the same system, or as part of a multi-user network installation where the Pandora User Interface is on multiple desktop computers and the Pandora Database Manager is on a network server.
There are three possible scenarios for running PandoraSQL:
Scenario 1: Microsoft® SQL Server Installation
| Two or more computers and a SQL Server. All computers are running the Pandora User Interface and a separate, secure Server is running SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005. |
| |
Scenario 2: Workgroup Server
| Same as Scenario 1. Pre configured SQL Server 2005 provided by Pandora at an extra charge. Check with a Pandora Account Executive for specs. |
| |
Scenario 3: Stand-alone
| Installed on a single, stand-alone computer. This computer must run the Pandora User Interface and also run the Pandora Database Manager |
You may start with any configuration and change to any other configuration at any time.
All three configuration scenarios are easily installed using the Pandora Data System Installation CD. Any computer (including the Server) may be used to import Archive Data from the Pyxis, AcuDose or Omnicell Console.
